Safeguarding. We follow Working Together to Safeguard Children (2023) and Keeping Children Safe in Education statutory guidance. Sessions with under-18s are conducted in line with our safeguarding and child protection policy. Confidentiality will be broken only where there is a risk of harm to a child or adult, in which case a referral will be made to the relevant local authority children’s services or the police.
Suitability checks. All mentoring of children is delivered by an Enhanced DBS-checked mentor (child workforce), with references and safer-recruitment checks on file. Certificate details are available on request.
Data protection. Personal data is processed under the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018. Our lawful basis is consent and legitimate interest; special category data (health, SEND) is processed with your explicit consent for safeguarding purposes. Records are kept securely for up to 6 years and never sold or shared for marketing. You may request access, correction, deletion or withdrawal of consent at any time by emailing beshopcourt@gmail.com; you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Insurance & conduct. Sessions are covered by professional indemnity and public liability insurance, delivered in line with equality duties under the Equality Act 2010, and an online safety policy applies to all video sessions (recorded consent, no 1:1 unsupervised messaging with minors, parent/guardian kept in copy).
